Creating a PLP for Flex Degree

There is a dedicated sub site in the network for creating a PLP for a Flex Degree. For testing use https://plp-library.vip-develop.twoyou.co/

1.Create a new PLP

Add any content you would like, all regular PLP blocks and functionality are available here.

2.Add Flex PLP settings Panel

In the right hand sidebar there is a new panel for specific flex degree PLP settings:

Live URL

The live URL that you want the PLP to appear on needs to be entered in this field to handle cache clearing and performance. This should be the same path as the plp library domain. For example if you have created a PLP in the library and it’s URL is https://plp-library.vip-develop.twoyou.co/requestinfo/test-plp/ then the live URL will be {desired domain}/requestinfo/test-plp so for example https://test-edu.vip-develop.twoyou.co/requestinfo/test-plp/

Testing note: Currently the only domain configured to serve flex PLPs is https://test-edu.vip-develop.twoyou.co but these could be any domain in future.

Tracking and optimizely settings

The segment field and optimizely fields are just supplied so that custom settings can be used on the individual flex PLP pages, so if this is desired please add the segment ID and optimizely ID for these here.

3. Publish the PLP

You can publish the PLP in the library and it will have it’s own path in the library but will also be served by other domains if the path matches. So you can view the PLP at https://plp-library.vip-develop.twoyou.co/requestinfo/test-plp/ and also https://test-edu.vip-develop.twoyou.co/requestinfo/test-plp/ in the example above.

Trouble Shooting

    • Make sure the URL in the Flex Degree panel is correct
    • It can take a few minutes for the updates to show, try to refresh in an incognito window after making updates

  • This could occur if you have a clash in the PLP paths, so for example /requestinfo/test-plp/ needs to be unique, if another PLP uses the same path then it would be served by the live domain. Keep all paths unique to prevent this from occuring
