Release 5.5.0 Summary

Note: 5.4.0 was a small maintenance update without any block changes, so there is no summary for that release.

Global Settings

  • Navigation: New options for adjusting spacing between all navigation items & logo so the items fit on 1 line at all screen sizes until break for hamburger menu. This is especially useful for nav bars with long titles/many items. (See demo video)
  • Addition of two fonts in dropdown: Franklin Gothic urw con demi and Playfair display
  • Fixes issue where option to globally disable floating CTA only applied to pages, not posts
  • Ability to add two CTAs in the navigation.
    Note: This feature is currently still being worked on. Currently you cannot set a unique color for the second CTA button, and there is no option for the CTA to open as a modal form, only as a link

Accordion Block

  • Ability to add top and bottom margins to each accordion item within an accordion block. This is set on the individual accordion item. (see screenshot)

Blog Posts

  • Options for blog posts to hide the title (to allow for h1 as image overlay etc.) (see screenshot)
  • Option to set post to full width (see demo video)
    Note – true “fluid width” is still not available and is being worked on, despite the title of the option

Text Media Block

  • Allow 2U image block to be added inside a text media block

Hero Block

  • Fix for issue where Button within the Hero – ‘open in new tab’ only works if your button link has ‘https://’ at the beginning. This should now work for any link
  • Fix for issue where, when applying bottom margin to the hero content, this is not being applied to mobile view. Updated so margin-bottom is applied to all devices (including mobile)

Paragraph and Header Blocks

  • Ability to set text to all caps style using css “text-transform: uppercase” rather than typing in uppercase. This is recommended for all use cases for fully capitalized text moving forward, for both accessibility and SEO readability.
  • Ability to insert spans to have multiple text styles within the same paragraph block (see demo video)
    Note: we are still working on an option to apply color changes that override the text style on the span

Table Block

  • Ability to change the background colour of the Header section on a table. (see screenshot)

Footer

  • Removes icons if admissions phone number / admissions email is not filled out. This fix is for both the global footer and footers created using the footer override block.

Footer Override Block

  • For the PLP style footer, adds the ability to include an optional “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link (see screenshot)
  • For the PLP style footer, option for links to open in a new window (same screenshot as above)
  • Fix for issue where If you add a footer override block to a page, then remove it, the footer override still appears on the page (on the front-end)

Other

  • On Safari (some issues are desktop specific, some are happening on mobile as well), sites had some formatting issues (e.g., drop-downs in the nav bar are a little misaligned, bullet points overlapping with other design features, and words being cut off). These issues have been resolved.
  • Optimizely Script Amend: If a site has OneTrust enabled and has Optimzely ID, the Optimizely script needs to have class=”optanon-category-3″ similar to Segment Analytics script. (For EU sites)
  • Security update to add CSP header to prevent iframe hacking (see screenshot of results)
