Release 5.2.0 Summary
WordPress Core Update
The primary focus of this release was upgrading WordPress Core to 5.7.2 This update includes mainly back-end improvements around performance, accessibility and security. Some changes and improvements may be visible in the editor. They include:
- Social Icons block: You can now change the size of the icons in the Social Icons block.
- Reusable blocks: Several enhancements to the usability and stability of reusable blocks have been made, and reusable blocks are now saved at the same time that the post is saved.
- Block variations: The icon and description of a block variation is now shown in the block inspector, and a new dropdown in the block inspector lets you switch between block variations.
- Inserter drag and drop: Blocks and block patterns can now be dragged directly from the inserter into the post canvas.
List Block
- Fixes issue where an extra blank, uneditable bullet point was added in the editor once more than one column was selected & fixes alignment issue with text and bullet points
- Fixes issues with the column count not working correctly on the front-end & editor
- Removes ‘Reduce Indent’ toggle
Versions Block
- Fixes issue where versions were not appearing in the editor unless you clicked off and on the block
Accordion Block
- Fixes block invalidation error in the editor
Hero Block
- • Fixes issue where When you add a button via the options in the sidebar and add a link to it with the option to open it in a new tab, it doesn’t open the link in a new tab on the front-end.
